Frequently Asked Questions
How to clean carboy pumps?
Cleaning
Tekirdağ Public Health Directorate gave information about the cleaning of “Water Pumps”, which has been keeping its agenda in recent days.
Pointing out that the pumps must be checked to ensure that they do not contain foreign odors and whether they are clean before they are used, the authorities said, “The stopper on the pump tap must be kept closed at all times.” they said.
The authorities, who also made suggestions on pump cleaning, explained their suggestions with the following items:
The water pump is removed from the carboy. A glass of boiling water is prepared. First, the inner and outer parts of the pipe entering the carboy; Visible dirt, if any, is removed by cleaning it with a clean brush. Then it is dipped into the glass containing boiling water and the boiling water is drawn into the pump, flowing from the faucet.
This process is continued until the boiling water in the glass is finished. By cleaning the outer surface of the pump,
it is attached back to the carboy. If you are washing your dispensers and pumps with detergent,
rinse abundantly. Do not forget that as a result of insufficient rinsing, the smell and taste of detergent will pass into the water.
Why does sediment form when water is boiled?
Sedimentation
We think that the residues formed when water is boiled are harmful and we change the water we use. “The sediments and lime formed in the water are actually indicators that the water is rich in minerals,” said Istanbul University, Istanbul Faculty of Medicine, Department of Medical Ecology and Hydroclimatology. Dr. Zeki Karagülle explains the reasons for the sediments formed in the water. The lime and sediment that appear during boiling and accumulate at the bottom of the boiling pots are actually an indicator of the healthy and mineral-rich structure of the carboy or pet water you use daily. These substances, which give water its hardness, actually give clues about the natural structure of water. The lime and sediment formations that occur during the boiling of high mineral natural waters are questioned as a negative feature, whereas it is the water-insoluble calcium carbonate and magnesium carbonate compounds that give their hardness to high mineral natural waters and are formed during boiling. Contrary to the expected harm of this substance, which is most commonly known as lime, it is an indicator of mineral wealth and health in drinking water. You can easily learn the mineral structure of the water you drink by reading the label on it. For Detailed Information: please read our report. How should packaged water be stored?
Storage
Water should be stored in cool (5-15 degrees), dark (away from sunlight) and dry (less than 50 percent humidity) environments.
Water should be kept away from chemicals, detergents, cleaning agents, gasoline and similar substances as much as possible.
How long does bottled water last?
The Life of
Water
The life of packaged water is determined by the manufacturer according to the degree of permeability of the package and the structure of the water and is indicated on the package.
Can arsenic be separated from water?
Arsenic
Arsenic can be easily distinguished by filtration processes.
If tap water is boiled, will microbes die?
Tap Water
Boiling water above 72 degrees for 15 minutes eliminates some microorganisms. However, boiling does not have any effect on arsenic, iron and particulate components.
Are natural spring waters completely natural?
Natural
Are natural spring waters completely natural or are mineral additions made?
The taste of packaged natural spring waters is completely natural, mineral additions are prohibited.
Can reverse osmosis process be applied to natural spring waters?
Reverse
Osmosis
No, it is not applicable. Only filtration processes can be done in natural spring waters. With the filtration process, high levels of minerals are reduced to levels permitted by law.
Is the mineral structure of natural spring water and treated drinking water the same?
Mineral
Structure
No, it is not. Since minerals are added in the processed drinking water, it can always be kept at the same level. However, in natural spring waters, the mineral structure changes seasonally.
Should natural spring water or processed drinking water be preferred?
Water
Preference
This is a decision about the taste of the consumer. Both natural spring water and processed drinking water products of branded packaged water producers are safe for health. There are only differences in taste and mineral value between them.
Is the source of the natural spring water known?
Source
Yes, it is obvious. Legally, producers of natural spring water are required to write the source of the water they bottle on their packaging.
Do home filters purify water completely?
Filters
Filters used by attaching to taps can function to reduce the hardness of water if used in accordance with the usage principles. Household filters generally only do chemical treatment, they cannot purify microbiologically.
On the other hand, if special units such as UV (Ultra violet) lamp or Silver filter are used in the filter system at home, the water can be purified from germs. However, in order for such a system to work properly, there should be no sediment and physical particles in the water inlet of the UV lamp, and the lamp’s life should not have expired.
What is the filtration process, is it harmful to health?
Filtration
It is a process that standardizes its quality and health by cleaning the micron-level particles that may be present in the water. There is no harm to health if done as recommended.
Are the minerals found in processed drinking water sufficient?
Minerals
Yes, it is enough. It contains all kinds of minerals required for a quality water.
What is processed drinking water?
Processed
Water
Processed drinking water is water obtained from underground water basins, purified by advanced technology called reverse osmosis, subjected to ozonation process, and offered to consumers by adding minerals suitable for their palate.
Does chlorinated water contain microbes?
Chlorination
It may contain. There are microbes that chlorination cannot kill microbiologically.
Is well water drinkable?
Well Water
To be able to drink well water, it is necessary to know the mineral structure and microorganisms it contains. Water producers can make these waters drinkable in different ways.
Why use bottled water?
Bottled Water
Because the waters packaged under the supervision of legal and local governments are of high quality, clean and have a balanced mineral structure and are produced under the stipulated conditions.
Is there ozone in the purchased water?
Ozone
If ozonation is applied, this information must be included on the product label.
What is hard water?
Hard Water
Water containing calcium carbonate minerals dissolved from various rock layers by rain water is called “hard water”.
Is carbon dioxide gas added to sodas harmful?
Carbondioxide
No, it is not. It is used in the products in the dimensions specified in the legislation.
Can minerals be added to soda?
Mineral
No mineral can be added to the sodas, only gas is added to the liter as much as the carbon dioxide gas level flying during extraction, based on the source of the water.
Is arsenic in water harmful?
Arsenic
It is not harmful if it is less than 10 micrograms per liter, which is the standard set by the World Health Organization in potable water.
Which institution has the authority to produce and control packaged water in Turkey?
